MCI Collective has acquired three separate parcels of land in the East Ward from the City of Newark for the development of "The Michael," a project dedicated to the late brother of MCI Collective’s partner, Siree Morris.
The development consists of 16 residential units spread across three buildings: two four-story buildings, each containing five apartment units, and one four-story building with six apartment units. Additionally, the project includes a total of three parking spaces.
"The Michael" is a collaborative effort between MCI Collective and the City of Newark. As part of this partnership, the City of Newark has provided a HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) grant, ensuring that eight of the units are designated as affordable housing. These units will be available to residents earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for Essex County.
