Phase 1 of the NJPAC Education District marks the first step in transforming the Newark Riverfront into a vibrant, arts-centered neighborhood.

A collaboration between MCI, L+M, and NJPAC, this mixed-use, transit-oriented development will activate Center Street with approximately 330 rental units, 15 for-sale homes, and 20,000 square feet of retail and commercial space. The project also includes critical infrastructure upgrades and enhanced public spaces. A key feature is the Mulberry Street extension—a pedestrian-focused connector linking NJPAC to the new development, fostering a walkable, engaging community in the heart of Newark.
